Through the core path planning process undertaken by the Cairngorms National Park Authority the local community in the Dinnet area aspired to see a route linking the path network of Dinnet with the path network over in Glen Tanar. The link was achieved by constructing a short section of aggregate path; linking an existing track through Dinnet oak woods to ultimately the Firmounth path over to Glen Tanar.
